This sketchbook is a filthy rotten liar!! Bunny doesn't like sketchbooks that lie to her. Bunny has since come to learn that "watercolor safe" does not mean you can actually USE watercolors on this paper, it just means that they can be in the vicinity of the sketchbook, but actual watercoloring? No. Es ist verbotten. I finished this about 3 minutes before Toochers signed offline at like 12.30a (I think) and I didn't want to color it but I did anyway and I just now finished (3.15a). I SWEAR it looks four gabillion times better in person! Like, for seriously. This is ink, colored pencil and watercolor. My sketchbook is hardbound and pages don't just rip out, they have to be exacto-knifed out. Ha. So, the reason one side looks sorta blurry is because it wasn't lying exactly flat on the scanner. And has anyone besides me noticed that when my hair was black that was the usual color for any character I drew and now that I'm blonde, my characters are also blonde? Egotism? Beats me. Probably. Because they usually all have ponytails also. Anyway...

Suddenly I'm all about hard to read writing but not in an annoying "emo" way but in a gothic curly-q type way so in case you can't tell it says "sweet my honey" which is a line from the Dir en grey song "Zomboid."

Her eye is completely watercolor as are her lips. Her hair is a mixture of watercolor and color pencil, her skin are obviously my shitty quality color pencils and the blood is ink. On the right corner, those are plastic tubes (you can tell that in person, btw) and the other side is just black strappy things. Those things near her hair? I don't know. Dragonfly, butterfly. I like the name Alice.

I really need to play with watercolors. I keep seeing people's work and I like what they're doing. Hmm...

I like the subtle red tones on her body, and under her eye. It's pretty.

Thanks! Although it would look a lot better if the paper was thicker and took color/blended better. I bought it thinking it would but does it? Nope. Oh well. I've come to realize, here lately, that when it comes to artistic acts, people have a "style" and there's a lot more than talent involved. Does that make sense? I've seen pictures done by people that are perfect, every detail accurately sketched - but the picture is boring and without an imagination. Then I've seen those without as much talent but their pictures are fun and "better" because they are imaginative. And what one person thinks is good another will think is bad. And what I'm basically trying to say is that I may not have much in the way of talent but I think I have imagination and at least I enjoy what I do and (yeah, someone told me this picture was sucky) so just because I'm not daVinci... LOL Oh well. Thanks for the compliment! And you should definitily work with watercolors! I love watercolor pencils personally because they are easy to use and control for smaller things! They are more expensive though, I paid $15 for a basic set of 12. I'd kill for good markers and good color pencils but those are even more expensive. Ha.

Oh it totally makes sense! Going to an art school, I see this all the time. There is a 'scene' when it comes to art usually, and it's boring when many people do something that is very similar (a lot of the kids here do the 'urban art' thing, and most of it is very badly done...) I wish people would look at it more of a fun way of expressing yourself instead of saying "omg it's not perfect, this sucks..." And I like your drawing. The only thing I would tell you to work on is the hair. don't take it the wrong way, it's just a suggestion coming from someone who has played around with coloring for ages. Just work on highlights and stuff, it will make it a little more interesting ^^

omg, I love water color pencils, they're awsome! Those are too bad to use on regular sketchbook paper.

anyway, keep it up! You should post more art :P

Bunny I love it!! I always have such a hard time with watercolors, but maybe thus far it's because I have to render my designs in them :( I definately have to check into watercolor pencils soon too.

Oooooo, I especially love how the eye and lips came out! The writing may be hard to read, but it suits the subject quite well. :)

I've never really tried watercolors 'cause I am chicken. :P
